This week on Thrive Hive we had a question from Angela of Balance and Life
I have a question for the tech gurus in the house. I want to create a landing page for my new domain name while I work on getting my blog ready. What’s the best way to go about doing this?
First off, let’s address why you may want to do this:
- You may want to create a specific landing page for people who visit your site from a guest post
- You may be working on a new site and want to be able to capture leads and have an opt-in while you work on the back-end
- You’re in maintenance-mode and want to be offer information about when your site will be back up
- You want to create a squeeze/sales page
What are your options?
There are actually quite a few and the Hive chimed in with quite a few responses!
If you’re on WordPress you might try:
The Ultimate Coming Soon Page: Creates a Coming Soon page or Launch page for your Website while it’s under construction and collects emails from your visitors. It works with any theme, completely customizable look and feel and it’s free!
LaunchRock: which lets you build and launch a landing page hosted on LaunchRock or embed a widget on your self-hosted website.
Paid Options:
If you have some cash to spare, you may want to check out
Optimize Press: a WordPress theme which lets you easily create sales, landing pages and launch funnels using templates.
Similarly, Premise: Another paid theme, Premise allows you to also easily create sales, landing pages and forums.
As you can see there are many options when it comes to creating a landing page and doing it yourself!
Your turn:
1. Would love to hear in the comments what approach you plan on taking and share a link to your landing page once it’s complete!
2. Know someone who could benefit from these tips? Please share!
