It’s so easy for online business people to overlook the important offline world for connecting with potential clients and collaborators. Online is increasingly important, but offline is where I personally have the most fun and success in business.
My pleasure, Kendra! It’s so easy to get caught up in the online that we forget that there are living and breathing people IRL around us 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

I actually joined-bschool recently to build a bigger network and it has been an amazing opportunity to meet online friends in the offline world!
This is great, Sandy. An interesting thing happened when I started taking my business online – I went into my office and I never came out. 🙂 I mean, I came out for food and sleep but I completely neglected my offline connections. In hindsight this was a big mistake. I realized it pretty quickly and began focusing on making connections offline again. I am much happier with this mix of online and offline and over half of my coaching clients now come from my offline connections. I also learned that I really enjoy connecting with people in a more personal way. So for me, the blend of offline and online feels great! Thanks for focusing on this important topic.
I am too familiar with your story, Michael! It’s so easy to get caught up with all the amazing connections online and forget our IRL connections.

I think this is something I definitely struggle with. It’s so easy to just rely on Facebook and digital communications, but a New Year’s Resolution for me was to do at least one drink/meal a week with a connection or person I wanted to maintain or develop a connection with.
Never eat alone by Keith Ferrazzi touches on this, building on advice on entrepreneurship dating back 100 years! So glad you’re getting that info out there. It’s 100% needed.
that’s a great resolution, Terry! Are you on track? I need to try something like that.
I have yet to read ‘Never Eat Alone’ but it comes up so often..I”m adding it to my list. Thanks!

I actually have yes! One a week, either for lunch, dinner, or an after work drink. It’s super easy if you only give yourself the goal of one a week. You can do it!
Great tips here Sandy! I started in the online blogging world a little over a year ago and the online connections I’ve made have been so valuable. Twitter and joining Facebook groups has worked really well for me.

Sooo true, Kristy! It’s all about balance, isn’t it? Thanks for stopping by!
Oh thank you for this reminder as it is something I tend to forget or ignore. Yes, I need to connect more offline. Thanks again for this reminder!

Hey Nicole, I’ve heard great things about B-School and the community. Isn’t it awesome when you get to connect with online friends offline?

Totally agree! What are some of your favorite Facebook groups? I’m always on the lookout for more!
