Unstoppable Entrepreneur: Meet Joye Johnson, CEO of Czar Atlanta

An important part of being an entrepreneur is learning from your peers. “Unstoppable Entrepreneur” profiles entrepreneurs just like yourselves who have taken the leap to follow their passion and create their own work & lifestyle.joye johnson czar atlanta

I had the pleasure of meeting this week’s interviewee last spring at a Ladies Who Launch Girls Getaway in Atlanta.

Meet Joye Johnson.

1. Who is Joye Johnson and what does she do?

I am a serial entrepreneur who loves launching new and exciting brands.  I am a visionary that has created a consistent flow of dreams and goals that are now being realized in my company, Czar Atlanta.  Czar Atlanta is a daily deals site targeting affluent consumers.

2. When did you decide to take the leap and follow your own path?

I have always wanted to be an entrepreneur.  I’ve tried to beat it out of my soul most of my life.  I started my first business at 19 and haven’t stopped, much to my parents chagrin.  My dad wanted me to be a lawyer and my mom thought that I would make a great teacher.  Ever since I heard the story of the Carney brothers and Pizza Hut I was hooked.  I’ve had great ideas for hospitality and food businesses since I was a kid.

3. Best advice to someone starting out?

Don’t take no for an answer, keep going and always finish what you start and lastly I tell people to start small.  You don’t have to have a huge business plan or building.. just start!

4. Biggest challenge to date?

Money.  Money is important and ignoring it doesn’t make it appear.  You have to have a financial goal in mind and work backwards to reach it.  Some entrepreneurs want to start businesses because of their passions, but when your passion leads to profit make sure you have a financial goal to shoot for.

Joye has worked with dynamic brands like BET, MTV, Bad Boy Entertainment, and Starwood Hotels while nurturing the development of small businesses in the Atlanta area.  Over her many years of experience she has developed a passion for managing and marketing proprietary programs and initiatives for seed stage and startup companies.  She is currently the CEO of Czar Atlanta a business development firm and has served as the Sales & Marketing Director for the United Athlete Foundation (AAG), Trusted Advisor for local Vistage Atlanta, Atlanta Partnership Director for Ladies Who Launch Atlanta, Committee Chair and Program Director for the National Council of Women in Entertainment and Vice President of Finance for the National Sales Network.
